Beach — North coast
Aggistro sits on Samothraki's northern coast and is more of a snorkelling destination than a sunbathing one — the water is known for exceptional clarity, with visibility reportedly reaching 30 metres or more over a rocky seabed of underwater caverns and volcanic rock formations.
It's a pebble shoreline backed by cliffs, with essentially no facilities, and stays quiet simply because most visitors head for the sandier, easier beaches elsewhere on the island. Best avoided on windy days, when the exposed coastline gets rough.
