Beach — Northeast coast
Vatos is a secluded stretch of Samothraki's rugged northeastern coast, reachable either by boat from Kamariotissa or Therma, or via a genuinely demanding 2–3 hour hike from Therma over uneven terrain.
There are no facilities of any kind, which is exactly why it's become one of the island's go-to spots for free wild camping — sheltered pitching spots and a real sense of remoteness. The Vatos stream and a smaller waterfall nearby add a freshwater option alongside the sea.
Best attempted in spring for the fullest stream and greenest surroundings, or summer for straightforward swimming — either way, come prepared with sturdy shoes, water, and everything else you'll need, since nothing is sold nearby.
