Landmark — City centre
Metropolis Square sits at the heart of Alexandroupolis, centred on the Metropolitan Church of Agios Nikolaos (St. Nicholas), built at the end of the 19th century in the same wave of construction that gave the city its Catholic and Muslim places of worship.
It functions as an everyday gathering spot as much as a sight to see — cafés ring the square, and it's a natural stop to break up a walk between the harbour and the old town.
