Day-trip itinerary — Soufli & Didymoteicho, ~65–90km north
This is a genuine full day out rather than a half-day add-on — Soufli and Didymoteicho sit roughly 25km apart on the way north, so the natural order is to see Soufli's silk museums first, then continue on to Didymoteicho's fortress, mosque, and bath before heading back south.
Both towns reward slow walking more than a checklist pace — leave time to wander Soufli's old silk-merchant streets and Didymoteicho's old town between the named stops, not just move between them.
