Cycling route — City-wide loop, starting and ending at the lighthouse
The municipality has built out a genuinely large and growing network of dedicated bike paths through the city, with around 65 bike-parking stands spread across 20 points — at parks, sports facilities, schools, beaches, the bus station, and taxi ranks. The flagship route is what the municipality calls the Great Cycling Tour (Η μεγάλη ποδηλατοβόλτα): a 15km loop starting and finishing at the lighthouse, built to suit riders of any age or ability.
There's no municipal bike-share scheme yet, so bring your own bike or rent from one of the city's bike shops. The flat coastal terrain makes it an easy ride rather than a technical one — a good way to cover more ground than walking allows without needing a car.
