Alexandroupolis has a small but long-standing Armenian community, and this church — known locally as Karabet — is its place of worship. Armenian churches are uncommon on the Greek mainland outside Athens and Thessaloniki, which makes this a genuinely distinctive stop for anyone interested in the region's layered communities.
