Agia Paraskevi Beach

Beach — Near Makri, ~14km west of the city

Agia Paraskevi is consistently rated the best beach around Alexandroupolis, and it's easy to see why: fine sand, gently shelving water that stays shallow well offshore, and a proper organized setup with sunbeds, umbrellas, and beach bars rather than the bare-bones stretches further out.

The beach takes its name from a small chapel dedicated to Agia Paraskevi standing right behind it, just past the village of Makri. It gets busy in July and August but rarely feels crowded given how far the sand runs.

It's the pick for a proper beach day rather than a quick dip — worth the short drive out past Makri if City Beach feels too central and low-key.
