Beach — Near Traianoupolis, ~16km northeast of the city, on the edge of the Evros Delta
Named for the nearby Church of the Transfiguration of the Saviour, this beach lies east of Alexandroupolis close to Traianoupolis and the western edge of the Evros Delta, roughly 16km out. It's a genuinely different stretch of coast from the beaches west of the city — flatter, quieter, and shaped by its proximity to the delta's wetlands rather than a resort strip.
It suits a visit built around the Traianoupolis thermal springs or a delta-adjacent day rather than a dedicated beach trip — the sand is real and swimmable, but the setting is the appeal here more than the facilities.
