Beach — Western outskirts of the city, ~30 minutes on foot along the shore
EOT Beach sits on the western outskirts of Alexandroupolis, reachable on foot along the shore in about half an hour, or by car in minutes via Leoforos Makris. Fine golden sand and a gentle slope into the water make it an easy choice for families; it has been an officially recognized swimming beach since 1990 and holds Blue Flag certification for water quality.
It's the most fully equipped beach close to the city: tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts, sun loungers and umbrellas, a seafront restaurant, showers, a mini-market, and an open-air summer cinema. Entry is through a paid gate rather than free access, and the complex is built to be accessible for visitors with disabilities.
Open daily in season (weekdays 9am–9pm, weekends 9am–8pm), it's the pick for a full day out rather than a quick dip — pack for the afternoon and use the facilities rather than just passing through.
